🙏 Thanks to my bike trip through Colombia, more specifically Pueblo Bello (Colombia), I have been able to share with the Arhuaca community. Grateful to have the opportunity to know their customs and hear many stories about their ancestral fabrics.

🧶 Material: This large Arhuaca bag / backpack is unique, it is made with first class materials of the highest quality, in sheep's wool that they themselves shepherd and collect. Raw materials that are then spun with the spindle, a wooden instrument driven with the fingers in which the thread is threaded. Also used to add color to certain designs are crushed flowers, roots and bark.

KAKU SERANKWA
(Mythological Beings) - (Creative Fathers and Mothers) - (Guardians of the World)
This engraving is woven to pay homage to all those beings that exist in our Arhuaca worldview and we have them present in "anugwe" or thought. The main mythological being engraved on the backpacks is the creator father Kaku Serankwa, who is made "payment" for all the benefits received, especially for the territory. We also pay tribute to sacred beings who care for the earth, water, seeds and community life. Himself to the sacred forces of the land and the sea; of the moon and the sun who are powerful beings that make our existence possible.

✨ Exclusive piece woven by indigenous Arhuacas and Arhuacos. This impressive Arhuaca bag is unique, a woven work of art that has a highly specialized and ancestral manual work. For the Arhuaca woman, weaving is one of the most important activities in the indigenous worldview, because when the process of weaving her first backpack is finished, it is taken to the Mamo to be used in the different initiation rituals that insert her into community life.
Through this activity, women express their visions of life and at the same time are contributing significantly to the economy of the communities.
⏳ This particular shoulder bag woven in pure sheep's wool, represents approximately 8-14 days of work for a single artisan. .
🌵 The techniques of fabrics and engravings, are ancestral knowledge transmitted by oral tradition.
☝ For this reason each piece is unique, there is only one unit per creation.
🗿 A perfect story for a different, original and special gift: The Arhuaco indigenous people settled in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, has preserved through oral tradition one of the most significant trades of their community, it is the process of weaving the Arhuaca backpack through which they manifest their history and cultural identity. Likewise, this artisanal creation works not only as a utilitarian object but as an ancestral means of communication.
The base of the backpack begins to be woven in the form of a spiral representing the movements that Serankwa the first son that the Universal Mother had made for the ancestral territory.

Custom and personalized orders

Care instructions
YOUR WAYUU BAG and ARHUACA BAG:
To wash rotate the bag outwards and tie the laces. Place the laces inside the bag so they are not damaged. Place the bag in a 15-minute fast cycle in a cold setting.
MACRAMÉ:
- Do not subject it to high temperatures.
- It is resistant but it does not stop being thread, do not stretch it or pressure.
- You can wash it by hand with warm water and neutral soap. It can get wet but better avoid contact with water, liquids and chemicals to maintain the original state.
- Do not dry in a dryer.
- If you expose it to salt water /pool/ other liquids, to the sun, it can cause wear, discoloration or loss of color.
METAL COMPONENTS:
Metals can be changed their condition, when exposed to the sun, water, etc.
